Bronkies, or rather Bronkhorstspruit Dam, in the Olifants River is nestled away just outside Bronkhortspruit and opened for the first time to the public in 1950. Averaging a depth of 8 meters, the walls of this dam is around 25 m deep. There are very clean toilet facilities available at the dam and also clean running water and dustbins. The Bronkhorstspruit Dam also offers a wide variety of bird life due to the majestic Bird Sanctuary on the Southern point of the dam.
